Johnny Got His Gun War in its self is a catastrophe. Encountering the catastrophes of war has a deep rooted sway on ones life. In the novel Johnny got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo, Joe Bonham is a survivor of war and he is always showed signs of change physicaly, intellectually and spiritualy. Through Joe it is obvious that the value we pay for war is a lot to high. All individuals in life have a type of essential capacity. Climate it be a parapaliegic who lives alone, goes to work, has a type of public activity, and is an individual from a wheelchair crate ball group or a quadrapaliegic who is unequipped for doing much yet at the same time speak with loved ones. Joe is in an awfully more awful circumstance then any of them. Joe goes through his days in an emergency clinic bed. He is unequipped for any kind of fuction other than moving his head all over. He can not talk nor would he be able to eat for he has no mouth nor a face. He should be helped for thing's that a multi year old youngster could presumably do on their own like changing close or setting off to the washroom. This pickle, which Joe winds up in, causes Joe enormous mental anguish. Please I can't. Please no. Someone come. Help me. I can't lie here everlastingly like this until perhaps years from now beyond words. 1 can't. No one can. It is preposterous. (Trumbo 3.64) To attempt to envision the psychological pressure which Joe experiences is unconceivable to any person. Joe can not recognize his recollections from his consciencnouss nor would he be able to pass judgment on the off chance that he is alert or sleeping. Joe can not speak with his attendants which is the most noticeably terrible of every one of his folies He continued tapping. He kept on now for another explanation beside the basic want to talk which had begun him out. He continued tapping since he didn't set out stop he didn't set out think. He didn't have the mental fortitude to pose himself so basic an inquiry as to what extent will it be before the medical caretaker comprehends what I'm doing.(Trumbo 15.180) this causes Joe the most anguish since all he needs now, in his condition, is to go into the world and show everybody the revulsions of war. Joe envisions himself in a school building recitng this nursery rhyme: Hickory *censored*ory dock my daddy' nuts from shell stun. Humpty dumpty thought he was astute till gas tagged along and wore out his eyes.
